Peloton App Review: All You Need To Know Before Subscribing

Before I give my glowing review–sorry, not sorry, Peloton’s content is excellent–Peloton isn’t for everyone. It features primarily trainer-led workouts, a format that not everyone likes. Peloton probably isn’t for you if you don’t like coached workouts.

But if you love trainer-led content, or if you’re on the fence about trying Peloton’s workouts before you buy one of the bikes or treads, and even if you don’t want to buy them, keep reading.

Our team has been Peloton subscribers for years. Is Peloton perfect? No. It could use some improvement, which I’ll get into. If you’re on the fence about subscribing, know you don’t need Peloton’s pricy equipment. You get full access to all of the features with one of the bikes, treads, or the Peloton Row, but I enjoy using the app regularly when I exercise at home with limited equipment.

Here’s everything you can expect and why Peloton is one of the best.

Echelon EX-5s-22 Exercise Bike Review: Could It Be Better?

As a fitness instructor and general exercise lover, I’m constantly looking for ways to improve. I bring a critical lens to each piece of fitness equipment I review. Upon hopping on the Echelon EX-5s-22 Exercise Bike, I thought, “Could it be better?”

It’s got a rear-mounted flywheel conveniently placed out of the “sweat zone”—great. The 22-inch touchscreen streams Echelon’s Premier Membership, which is filled with live and on-demand trainer-led studio fitness classes–awesome. Hybrid pedals for your tennis shoes or cycling cleats–excellent. But is it missing something?

While I loved listening to the voice of my youth, Pitbull (he partnered with the brand years ago- a partnership I didn’t know I needed) and Echelon made some good updates to their membership (there are now games!). The EX-5s-22 is also pretty well-priced compared to competitors, but does it feel lackluster in an overly saturated market of smart home exercise bikes?

WalkingPad A1 Pro Review: The King Of WalkingPads?

We discovered WalkingPad before the TikTok craze. From firsthand experience testing several, I know these treadmills are more than just a fitness phase. With an innovative folding system packed into a tiny design, WalkingPad takes the excuses out of hitting your target step goal.

But with so many WalkingPads to choose from, which one do you take home? For under-desk use, the WalkingPad A1 Pro is one of the best. It’s a small treadmill with a surprisingly large weight limit, so more people can walk while working from home or in the office.

Is this treadmill the answer to increasing your exercise minutes to match your screen time? We tested the A1 Pro to find out.

Horizon 7.8 AT Treadmill Review - Is This Treadmill A HIIT?

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a great way to get the most out of your workouts without training for hours. Mustering up the courage to tackle a 20-minute HIIT workout is one thing. Finding a treadmill that you don’t have to wait to adjust during it is another.

Picture this: you’re in the last 5 seconds of a 30-second sprint. Lungs are burning, and legs are about to give out. You hit your treadmill’s speed button to bring it down to a walk. With your eyes on the clock, you notice you’re still running 10 seconds after your sprint ended. You only have a few more seconds before starting your next sprint.

Annoyed and discouraged, you contemplate giving up and throwing in the towel. Before you do that or discredit your fitness entirely, I implore you to look into the Horizon 7.8 AT. In all my years of testing treadmills, I’ve never run on one more perfect for HIIT training.

Although it’s not the prettiest treadmill in the friend group, it’s the one I choose when I HIIT the deck. Here’s why you should consider it for HIIT and beyond.

How To Tighten And Adjust A Treadmill Belt Yourself

Treadmills have a lot of components that require maintenance. The running belt is one of the biggest aspects that can cause issues if they aren’t properly taken care of and adjusted. The belt, after all, allows you to run at up to 12 mph on some treadmills.

Along with lubricating, from time to time, your treadmill’s belt might need to be tightened or adjusted. Here at TRG, we’re treadmill experts who are regularly tightening and adjusting treadmill belts. Our goal is to help you not only find the best treadmill for you but also help you maintain your treadmill.

Lumen Review - 2024

Have you ever wanted to know how effective your metabolism is? How does it process the foods you eat? Well, the Lumen might be able to give you some answers and insight into how flexible your metabolism is.

“Flexible” is what Lumen describes as an efficient metabolism and using the Lumen device is said to help you improve your metabolism and teach your body to use specific types of foods for energy. This all sounds great, right? But is it too good to be true? I tried Lumen for four months (and continue to use it) to see if it does what it claims and if it’s worth it. In this Lumen review, I’ll go over my experience and what you should know.

Sole ST90 Review: Why I Hate To Love This Treadmill

When I look for fitness equipment, I want something that makes me better and gives me a killer workout that I can only get through by uttering a few swear words. Will the Sole ST90 Treadmill make you better? Maybe. Will it whip you into #!@$-ing shape? Most likely!

Although I’ve run on so many treadmills that I’ve lost count–I’ve even sneaked into gyms to try models we don’t have when we have most. The Sole ST90 is the HARDEST treadmill I’ve ever run on.

I can only thank Sole for including free trainer-led workout videos and apps like Netflix and YouTube on the touchscreen because when I’m on the ST90, I need any distractions to push through–although sometimes my favorite show isn’t even enough to divert my dark thoughts or obscene language.

So, what makes the Sole ST90 so challenging? Let me take you to the Sole of why I hate to love the ST90.

Benefits of Low Intensity Cardio

A common misconception to exercise, especially cardio, is that you must be tired and out of breath at the end of it. Some folks even think that exercise doesn’t “count” unless you’re pushing yourself to the max and burning a ton of calories. I know this because I used to believe that, myself.

Exercise, specifically cardio, doesn’t have to be torturous. Low-intensity cardio has proven health benefits that might make you reconsider all your HIIT workouts, or at the very least entice you to add some low-intensity exercise into your fitness routine (which is what you should do, in my opinion).

Low-intensity cardio is also referred to as low-intensity steady-state cardio or LISS. If you’ve heard of programs like 12-3-30 that are making the rounds on social media, then you’re probably familiar with LISS training.

What Is Heart Rate Training And How To Use It In Your Workouts

What do you use to determine a good workout? Is it how fast you’re running or how many miles you’re logging on your bike? Maybe it’s how many calories you’re burning or how much you’re sweating. But what about your heart rate?

How fast your heart beats during exercise not only tracks how intense your workout is, it can also be used as a tool to improve your fitness and cardiovascular system. If this is a goal of yours, you should try heart rate training.

NordicTrack X22i Treadmill Review: Not For The Weak

Have you ever inclined a treadmill, waited until it reached its peak, and thought, “That’s it?”. The NordicTrack X22i’s 40% incline will have you thinking, “That’s enough!”. This treadmill is not for the weak, but that’s why I like it. It stands out in home gyms with treadmills offering only 12-15% inclines and boring treadmill workout modes.

The 40% incline is TOUGH! My glutes are on fire within minutes, yet iFIT has me ready to tackle Mount Everest. Okay, maybe not, but I feel like I’m training for it on the X22i. Following iFIT trainers up mountains on the 22” touchscreen and the extremely comfortable running surface are just two reasons why the X22i is rightfully a top treadmill to consider, at least in our (humble) treadmill-reviewing expert opinion.

12-3-30 Treadmill Workout Pros & Cons

The 12-3-30 treadmill workout is a workout making its rounds on social media. You might have even seen people doing it at your local gym. So, what is it, and does it have benefits? Is it for you or is it just another random TikTok workout?

If you aren’t familiar with the 12-3-30 workout, here’s what it’s about. Social media influencer, and Youtuber, Lauren Giraldo, created the workout that she says helped her lose 30 pounds.

The 12-3-30 treadmill workout is where you set the incline on your treadmill to a 12% incline at 3 mph and walk for 30 minutes. The treadmill stays at that incline and speed for the duration of the workout.

AssaultBike Elite Review 2024 - We’re Still Winded

If you know about air bikes, then you heard about AssaultBikes. I’ve even heard of air bikes from other brands called AssaultBikes. Undoubtedly, they’re popular, but is the top-of-the-line AssaultBike Elite worth it? What makes it different?

Along with its durability, the Elite is the bike you hop on when you want to sweat because you will within a few minutes. Air bikes are tough, and the Elite lives up to this, boasting a classic and well-adjusting design.

Although it holds a special place in my heart as the first air bike I had the pleasure of reviewing here at TRG, this fan bike has some things I’m not a fan of. Let me explain below.

10 Amazing Benefits Of Walking On A Treadmill

When most people hear the word “treadmill”, they associate it with running, but walking on a treadmill has amazing benefits and shouldn’t be overlooked. Walking can help improve your overall health, which includes your body both internally and externally, as well as your mind.

The all-or-nothing approach is common when it comes to getting in daily exercise. We are often wired to think that we must train super hard and for long periods to see results. Many people think that exercise only counts if we’re struggling to catch our breath and drenched in sweat by the end. The truth is, walking on a treadmill has great health benefits, is more widely available, and is a wonderful low-impact exercise that you can do every day.
